Mon 7 July: Tour de France visits Essex
 Great Waltham:
tour caravan arrives at 12:00, riders from 13:45.
Gt. Waltham was on the route and has a sharp bend right in the village centre which made an interesting viewing point, obviously that’s where Chris Mills (Essex A sec.) was.

There were various places doing food and drink including a ‘pop-up pub’ in the Village Hall run by the well known local real ale pub the Compasses, Littley Green.  There was a Cycling Trade Fair, Hogroast, Pimms Tent, Local Arts & Crafts, Picnic Areas, etc.  A Tour de France memorabilia display can be seen at The Stores pine shop in the village centre, it’s well worth a look. On the day you could even hire a roadside seat in the churchyard for £10!  Download the Tour de France guide for Great Waltham.
