On a cool and breezy morning a mere two cyclists met at the fountain (myself and Kevin) to ride out to Great Hormead. Alan had said he would try to intercept us en route, and indeed he did, about half a mile from our intended destination! As it turned out the pub was shut, in spite of the website saying otherwise, so we continued on to The Fox at Aspenden, which was thankfully open. It was distinctly chilly in the garden, and it took me a good while to warm up again on setting off. Nevertheless it was a good ride, quiet roads and countryside. The ‘official’ part of the ride was approx. 40 miles, at an average of 13 mph.
