The sun was out at the Temple Barns, Cressing, together with 27 riders including a new member, David. We departed in two groups on similar routes of 20 and 27 miles taking us over to Aldham and then down to Tolleshunt D’Arcy via Birch, with the longer route looping down to Tollesbury village. Lunch was at the Queen Victoria where almost filled the beer garden. Thanks to Ian for the choice of routes.

After a good lunch we rode to Little Braxted Bakery, the first group arriving just after 3.00pm. Unfortunately the second group arriving at 3.20pm heard “closing in 10 minutes, too late to be served”. They were served after we played the ‘regular customers card’, but not before a few riders had headed off to find tea and cake elsewhere.

Nevertheless it was a lovely day with the usual good company and banter.
