Five of us turned up at The Fountain for our 10:30 start. Jack, Kevin, Pamela, Geoff H and myself, we headed off to Gt Wymondley where Nige joined us. We continued to the A656 where we split into two groups with Nige, Kevin and Geoff taking the St Alban’s way climb and the rest of us going via Hitchwood. After reforming we continued through Preston, the back route, Ley Green, where Nige and Geoff did a circuit via Gt Offley. The rest of us continued down to the Lilley Bottom/ Tea Green Junction and then up to Tea Green. Geoff P and Peter were waiting for us when we arrived at The White Horse. Nige and Geoff H arrived after their circuit. Mick and his brother Pete arrived shortly after as did Bedford Paul. The menu was a little disappointing, not having a lunch menu or sandwiches but we all found something to eat, even if it was only a portion of chips. Nice social event nonetheless. Afterwards, the original six made our way back to Hitchin and Letchworth via Whitwell with the rest making their way home. The weather had been threatening heavy rain but remained dry for us.
