Turned out to be a pretty decent day in spite of the pessimistic forecast – you can just never tell!

Four of us left from the fountain this morning, Adrian leading with Ronnie, Myself and Kris Pill (back from a lengthy lay-off. Welcome back!)

We picked up Nigel somewhere in Arelsey, as he came up from behind, and the Five of us continued on to the Forest Centre via Clifton, Ireland Houghton Conquest.

The centre which was as busy as I’ve ever seen it. However, service was not delayed and we were fed and watered in good time.

Me and Ronnie heading straight back by the same route with Ronnie aiming to get back by 2pm which we achieved by maintaining a good pace – 45 miles total.

The remaining three taking a longer route back via Ridgemont, Barton le Clay and Henlow. 55 miles – Our longest 40+ ride so far this year I think.
