This has to be one of my favourite routes/destinations, a really pleasant ride through quiet countryside to an excellent pub with good service, and I had the day off from leading as Mia did the honours; thank you Mia!

Andy E and Kris joined us for the ride, with Alan catching us en-route, just south of Barkway.

Conditions were near perfect, not cold and no wind, and just light cloud with the occasional glimpse of sun, and on arrival at the Woodman on the stroke of midday, we all placed our orders and were served in what must be record time.

For the return Alan as usual set off on the direct route, needing to get back, and we set off not far behind, back on the road well before one o’clock.

A fine ride. Official’ distance was 43.5 miles at just under 14 mph, quite fast for us thanks to the good conditions, and several long downhills!
