A deliberately short ride today, what with it being post-Christmas and not a good forecast to boot…Adrian met with the group at Arlesey Station and was surprised there were eight of us in total, a remarkably good turn-out considering. Alan and Derek met at the LGC fountain and met Steve C , Andy, Kris, Ronnie and Stuart en-route to Arlesey.

Anyway, we hadn’t gone far before Derek punctured, so I shortened the route I’d planned even further, so that we could arrive at the pub as close to 12 as possible.

Andy only stopped long enough to say hello to Geoff and Bedford Paul, who had ridden out from Luton, so there were nine for a very limited lunch, as the kitchen was closed; cold pasties and sausage rolls!

After lunch we hoped to beat the rain, but it came earlier than forecast, not helped by Kris suffering a puncture on the approach to Shefford.

Oh well, can’t be helped, and it was good to meet up with everyone today.
The distance from LGC and return was about 30 miles, at about 13 mph.
