On a very windy but remarkably warm morning, four of us met for the ride to Coleman Green. The four were myself, Kris, Alan and Kevin, and after a slightly delayed start we made good progress in spite of the wind. We did have a minor mishap shortly before reaching our destination though; on a steep narrow descent strewn with debris, Alan failed to stop in time when we had to stop, and tumbled off, fortunately at slow speed so no damage done. Mick met us at the pub having arrived some minutes earlier, and being so warm we were able to sit outside, in the shelter of a marquee which threatened to take off on occasion, After a slightly protracted wait for our meals, it wasn’t too long before we set off for the return, with Mick coming as far as Marshalls Heath before turning off for home. I left the others at the bottom of St. Albans Highway, as I usually do.
The ‘official’ mileage was 43, at an average of 11.5, probably due to the wind and the hills… Adrian Winterbone.
