Quite a turn out this morning, thirteen in total with eleven meeting at our start point. We set off in two groups, the first, with Alan leading, Geoff H, Kevin, John D, Andy, picking up Nige on route at Great Wymondley. This group did a slightly longer ride arriving at the lunch stop a little ahead of us. Our group Geoff P, taking the lead, myself, potential new member Nick, Martin, Steve & Peter took our usual route out. Andy and Nige didn’t stop for lunch but Mick joined us. The usual fayre was had sitting in the main bar area, which had a nice roaring stove keeping the area warm, which was most appreciated on this rather cold day. Afterwards, refreshed and warm we set off in two groups again. Alan and his group completed the usual circuit via Hexton and Shillington, while our group headed back via Whitwell and St Pauls Walden. Peter decided to head directly home to Luton. It was rather a cold ride but the sun came through on our way back along the Lilley Bottom Road which made it a pleasant ride back, well, apart from the NW wind at times.
